GROUP DESCRIPTION: The Senior 2 group has a mission to build a proven record of yearly success. This program focuses solely on the unique and high performance training, dedication and needs of the swimmers who have made the commitment to achieve high levels of success at Speedo's, Grand Prix Events, Jr. National's, National's and the USA Olympic Trials. It is the expectation of this group to promote competition at the highest levels available in USA Swimming and to represent Mercury Swimming in all of its goals for achievement on the national stage.
GROUP EXPECTATIONS:
.) MERC swimmers must have attained a USA Swimming "AA" time for automatic entry into this group. Consideration may be made for swimmers who are within reach of achieving a time and have proven their ability to do so through practice performance, swim meet performance and commitment to the program.
.) Swimmers accepted into this group are required to make 95% of all scheduled workouts (prior excuse must be obtained and/or communicated to the Head Coach.) Swimmers must also be willing to stretch themselves and their limits each and every day.
.) Swimmers in this group are required to attend all meets denoted by the Head Coach and swim all events as entered by the Head Coach.
.) Swimmers in this group are to maintain their grades in school at all times.
.) Swimmers in this group will sign and abide by the team's honor code at all times.
.) Swimmers in this group will represent MERC in a positive way and be supportive of all teammates, regardless of group, at all times.
.) Swimmers in this group will wear only MERC approved apparel at all swim meets, practice sessions and community outreach programs sponsored through MERC.
.) Swimmers in this group will not partake in drugs, tobacco, alcohol or any other substance that may be detrimental to their swimming careers and to the mission of the club and program.
.) Senior swimmers being recruited will conduct themselves with dignity and politeness on any recruiting trip taken.
.) Swimmers who achieve a trip through USA Swimming or who are selected to a USA Swimming sponsored camp will attend and will uphold the same standards of excellence as described in this document.
.) Swimmers in this group will abide by the travel policies and all other policies as set by the club.
.) Swimmers in this group will do their best to minimize interruptions to the practice and meet schedule during the high school season. While MERC swimmers are encouraged to participate in and support their High School swim teams, we expect a balance of participation that will not compromise the training standards expected for the SENIOR 2 GROUP.
