*NOTES ON GROUPS

 NOTES ON GROUPS:

Any coach in Mercury Swimming may change the individual athletes training program based on several factors that include the following: practice attendance, attitude, physical/emotional maturity and competitive readiness.

We take tremendous pride in what we do as coaches, that said, we collaboratively delineate the specific groups in which each child in our program will participate. We believe that we have the knowledge, experience and education to properly make informed decisions that are solely in the best interest of the swimmer.

Parents with any questions as to what groups their children participate in should contact Head Coach Mike Murray @ coachmurray3m@gmail.com (845)-797-8260.

The following is a summary of our groups:

Team Descriptions

General Rules

  • Mercury Swimming is a competitive swim team.  Our philosophy is to advance our club athlete’s competitive performance.  To that end, our expectation is that all members train toward the goal of competition in USA Swimming sanctioned meets.
  • Level of participation on a specific team does not indicate which training group the athlete will be placed in.  Training group participation is up to the discretion of the coaching staff.
  • The expectation is that the age group swimmers will complete the IMX events for their age group in order to remain in good standing
  • The expectation is that the senior training group will complete the IMX events for their age group in order to remain in good standing.
  • The expectation is that the Bronze group swimmers will train on a regular basis in order to advance to higher levels and compete in meets
  • Payment for each group only includes the training time for that group.  Extra training programs such as morning practice, long course practices, etc. are separate programs and must be paid for accordingly.
  • Each athlete is allowed to pay 2/3 of the session fee for 1 term if they are involved in a varsity sport during that term.
  • Participation at the Silver or Gold levels requires volunteer participation of family members.  This includes becoming an official, timing at meets, and providing volunteer at club sponsored fund raisers or meet sponsorship.
